We had the chance to go and photograph the Coventry Blaze ice hockey team during their training session, so I decided to go and see how my Lumix G1 camera would cope in that environment.
To be honest it didn’t cope very well, using a higher Iso for the shots created more noise than I would have liked in my photographs. So I stuck with an Iso of 800 which gave me a few good shots and many blurry ones when the skaters were moving.
Overall I liked the experience of photographing something different and the moving targets. I would love to do something like this again using a Cannon 5D or a better camera to mine at least, so I can capture still movement instead of blur. But I like my camera and have no plans to change it yet, as I wont be doing much sports photography anyway.
